Supporting Children with Separation Anxiety 🤍🌿
Separation anxiety is completely normal — especially for toddlers and young children.
I approach separation gently and without pressure.
Here’s how I support children who find goodbyes hard:
✨ Meet & Greet First
Whenever possible, we organise a short visit before the first booking so your child can become familiar with me while you’re present.
✨ Gradual Transitions
For the first few sessions, parents can remain home for part of the time if that feels helpful. We build comfort slowly and respectfully.
✨ Calm & Predictable Energy
Children respond to calm presence. I keep my voice soft, my movements gentle and avoid overwhelming stimulation.
✨ Engaging but Grounded Activities
We might:
Read favourite books
Explore outside
Do simple craft or drawing
Engage in imaginative play
Create a “goodbye ritual” that feels reassuring
✨ No Force, No Rush
I never push a child to “just get over it.”
Trust is built through patience, consistency and safety.
My goal is for your child to feel secure — not just distracted.
